This was a fun lunch after a day at the Vatican Museum. It's a little tough to find this place - we asked someone who worked in the main square where it was, and he didn't even know, I think because the street numbering in that area isn't quite intuitive and it's just off to the side of the square. We found it in some Eater article, and it was fun, and a nice break from the pizza and pasta we'd been filling up on. The prices were also super reasonable! I got the chicken cacciatore pocket, and it was great. My boyfriend got the meatball, and it was good, but mine was a bit better. Not worth a diversion to go to, but definitely worth a stop.

Stopped in to try this classic Roman street food. As previously mentioned, you pay for your food at the bar and then head to the back of the store to order and get your food. I got one that was some sort of beef and felt it was pretty good, although it wasn't amazing. It's only several euro and fairly filling based on the the fact that it is meat and bread. Although I grabbed mine to go, they have a nice seating area and lots of options for booze.

Poor customer service. Busy texting instead of tending to customers. Left after waiting for 15 minutes for service.

You first pay at the brewery and then go to the window where they assemble your trapizzino.
I had read it was like a pizza pocket, but it was more like a stuffed focaccia. We got the polpetta en sugo one - it was a really tender meatball with tomato sauce. The focaccia itself wasn't bad - it had a hint of sourdough?
Supposedly it's like street food, but you can also sit there and enjoy beers from the adjacent brewery.
€4 each.
Note: Trapizzino is a chain in Italy and now also abroad. -

Was looking for something other than the standard pizza, pasta, and gelato in Italy when I found this place. I was really excited as it was connected to a bar with some good craft beers which seemed to be hard to find in most restaurants. I got a sour beer and the Cacciatora chicken. The sour was interesting and the sandwich tasted wonderful. Will definitely visit the NY location when I get home.
